DJ, short for disc jockey, is the term 1st coined by those functioning within the radio trade, and was used to explain the people who played gramophone records over the radio. The term has since that time been shortened to DJ. The term may be used to explain anyone taking part in pre-recorded music for an audience, whether at a marriage, nightclub or house party. Before you can play music for your waiting audiencebut ,, you’ll have to be familiar with a way to hook up your music to a few public address (PA) speakers, so that everyone may hear it. 

Flip every one the volume levels on your mixer to zero to prevent feedback, static or sudden noise whereas setting up your equipment. Plug in your mixer’s power source and turn it on. Hook up your music source to the mixer by inserting 1 end of an audio cable into your music supply’s output or headphone jack, plus putting in the alternative end of the audio cable into the mixer’s input jack(s). Be sure you are putting the correct cables into their correct holes (generally the mixer’s input jacks may be red and white for left plus right audio, whereas other times the mixer will have a single input for each incoming audio). Learn more about dj audio equipment here.

Set up your PAs by twisting to the left the knob on the side of their poles, therefore loosening the tripod legs. When you’re finished spreading out the tripod legs, twist the very same knob to the right tightening the legs and locking them into position. Hook up the female end (the end with holes) of 1 of your XLR cables into the left master output of your mixer. Plug the male end of this same cable into your left PA’s XLR input. Leave a large amount of slack within the cable between the speaker and the mixer. Wind up the slack plus place it aside to keep from tripping on the cable and stressing it, which over time will cause it to damage and short out. 

Plug the female end of your alternative XLR cable into the mixer’s right master output. Plug the other end of this same cable into your right PA’s XLR input. Leave a bit of wound up slack plus put it out of the way. Flip on your music source, begin enjoying a song, and slowly turn up the master volume levels on your mixer to check your levels. If you’re getting sound from the PA speakers, then you have successfully attached your DJ system to your PAs.
