The lessons do a nice job of explaining the guitar basics.  In the beginning, you learn proper guitar position, optimal finger and fret placement, and special exercises designed to help your fingers adjust to playing the guitar.  Once you work your way through the course, you will move on to more advanced topics like strumming techniques, advanced chords, reading music and how to play various genres of music like R&B, rock and roll, and jazz.  The included Jam Along CDs let you play alongside a real band and they are a blast to play.  It is a fun method to take what you have learned in the lessons and improve your skills.

Any questions you that you have can be answered over in the online forums.  There are a lot of posters in the forums, and I found that my questions got answered very quickly.  As an added bonus, Steve Krenz himself is active on the forums and you could potentially ask him a question if you wanted to.
