The typical home study program will contain audio files and video clips that will teach you step-by-step how to play the piano or the keyboards right from the start. They typically come with a book or manual which can be viewed on your computer containing all of the lessons and exercises with references to the video and audio files.

Learning to play the piano by using one of these programs has quite a lot of advantages like as being able to program your own tuition without having to go for for lessons at a set time each week..Also you are not tied to a certain lesson. As soon as you are prepared for the next lesson or the next phase then you can proceed whenever you are ready or contrarily if you are having trouble with a particular lesson then you can simply spend more time on it.

On the whole the typical home study course is completely adequate for anyone to begin learning the piano and to move forward to a fairly hight intermediate level of playing with out the need to attend traditional piano lessons.
